I hope that you didn't take it the wrong way, I'm sorry if you did. I don't consider you a begger. I'm sure you don't fit that profile. If you live in a bad area of course you need a phone, I completely understand that, my area of town isnt the best either, and I've lived in one worse than this, and I didn't have a phone until someone came into my home and we had to use the phone down the street. I understand the bus situation too, where I live the buses stop running at around 7pm on most routes, and the connections are horrible,we have to wait sometimes up to an hour for another bus. Again I didn't mean to offend you, I wish you the best.

Hi I am one who asked for help with my dental problems, but I was in a state of panic, that I didn't look at the obvious, so I solved my own problem, sometimes we are in such a state that we can't make our own resolutions. Anyway thanks for all the people here that has helped and gave good wishes and prayers. I would like to offer a little bit of advice and suggestions,I have experience in being frugal for many years, so if anyone needs help in learning this I am willing to offer my assistance in that area. Those that need help with housing but not immediate can see if there is Habitat for Humanity in their area,if there willing to work hard, the outcome is wonderful, I have a Habitat Home. The morgage is less than renting, I've lived in mine for almost 8 years now. I also would like to offer people a place online where if they don't have no monetary way of giving they can have something emailed to them to help out women that don't have money for mamograms, they also have other organisations, there website is thebreastcancersite.com. Thanks again, and God bless you all. [remove]
Good morning everyone, I would like everyone to form a prayer chain today, take the time out today and post a prayer for all those who need help and guidance from God. I will start. Dear Lord please guide those who need your help,I pray they will find what they need, and their burdens be light. I say these things in Thy name. Amen
Sounds like your mom needs to be on food stamps, there is no shame in that, she's paid her taxes, she deserves to eat, also she sounds like she needs some medical assistance also, how old is she? there are programs out there I'm sure to help her out, for her sake your family needs to get help for her.Where do you live where rent is that high?? OMG, that is crazy to pay that much, I guess living down here is a little cheaper, I've heard that rent up north is high. How can people survive?? No wonder there are so many homeless people. I am in shock!! I live on less than that also, I get $86 a week child support,250 for alimony, all of that will end in 2 years because thats when my youngest will be 18. My 3rd son pays me $50 a week room and board. I am on food stamps too, there are 4 people living in my home. But I am very frugal, watch my pennies. It is very hard I know. I've learned how to do food storage. We don't go to fastfood, I don't buy junk foods or soda. lights don't blare during the day. I don't waste anything. Thats just me. We are not wanting for anything, don't need the fancy garbage out there,I don't beleive in credit cards, If I can't pay cash for something I don't need it. God bless her and you and the rest of your family.
This is for those who say they are serious about giving back, you don't need money to do this only your computer and email. The Breast Cancer Site has something that you can do everyday, they send you an email, you click the highlighted area it sends you to their site, you click on the highlighted pink area and your helping to fund mamagrams to underprivledged women, there is no (gimic or anything else that is underhanded) also at the top of that page you can click to support hunger, literacy, child health, rain forest and animal rescue. Go to http://www.thebreastcancersite .com I started doing this about 5 years ago, they are wonderful people. I even ordered a few things on there store website from them for myself and family. The reason why I started doing it is because I lost my mother to breast cancer when I was 14, that was back in 1966, they did not have the technology like they do today for early detection. I have other family members who had that disease, and I have 4 sisters and we are at risk. So if you are serious you want to help people there is a way. Thanks in advance. and Bless you!

get in touch with the companies that make the prescription. Are you getting any help with your medical? If your on medicad or on county health ask them. Ask your doctor also. There is a commercial running with Montel about a program he supports, but I forgot the name. Next time you see it write it down and call them. I hope this helps.
May I comment also about utilites, all counties have an agency(s) that help with utilities, if you call them fist and ask what you need for verification, and get all your varification before you get there it makes it easier and faster to get help, they usually contact the company and inform them there helping you. Sometimes it's only a onetime deal. I know that north of where I live it's colder I'm in Florida. Also contact your previous employer for your verification. I save all my stubs and payments that I make for the past year, and keep it in a file box, or an envelope, that way if I need them I have them. Sometimes it doews take a longer time to get help, it just depends on what they need for verification.
I live on less than $900 a month, but I have some help with my morgage from a son that lives with me. I get food stamps, and I have county medical because of my health, my prescriptions are free thru the drug companys that make them. I have been living below the poverty level for many many years, and I got a little scared when I was having dental problems, but I have found out that the county clinic does have the dental services that I need, but I have to get there very early in the am. I am very frugal and we are not starving, We are comfortable, I don't care for fancy things, I'm happy satisfied with the simple things in life. This is a few ideas that some of you might use. Number one, you won't go to jail if you have medical bills. You need to make a list of what bills HAVE to be paid NOW! I know that credit card bills and loans and such will get larger if you don't pay them but I'm sure that if you call them and explain your situations like a medical emergency ect, they will undertand and you can either put it off for a while or pay a smaller amount. If they don't understand, well you've done your best, you have to eat and have utilities, and have shelter. If your home is being forclosed you need to decide if it's cheaper to keep it or move. I would look into any agency available to help with utilities ect. If you have a cell phone turn it off and use it for emergencies only. Try to quit smoking, dont buy junk food and alcohol. Go to food banks, or shop for your breads ect at a bread thrift store, look in the reduced meats for your meats if you have a freezer stock up, stock up when things go on sale.Especially when things are buy one get one free, buy your toiletries at Family Dollar or Dollar General. I know when you feel desperate and have kids and all that you panic and don't think straight, take a moment and breath, grab a pencil and paper and make lists, go thru the phone book, look around you and see if you can sell something, call friends and neighbors, call churches. This is all I can give is advise,I have lots of ideas on being frugal. I don't have money but I do have prayers, if anyone needs to talk contact me thru aidpage and we can email privatly.
I think some people are confused on what kind of site this is... It is not a hookup site. Some are niave' it seems, I'd be very careful of people that post their phone numbers and emails to contact them. There are dangerous people in the world.
Colleen, the joy of helping people is not to expect anything back. I help people out of the kindness of my heart. I don't have money, my health isnt great, but when I see someone in need, I do all I can to help them. It's my nature, I'm a nurturing person. Like the saying goes He helps those that help themselves.

Sue I understand also, I worked for a major retailer for 10 years.(hint they have a tower in Chicago) When I found out that I was accepted for a Habitat for Humanity home and I couldn't work as many hours on Saturdays for a few months because I had to help build my home, it's part of the down payment called sweat equity. I informed my boss, I told him that I could work after 3 till closing,on Saturdays, well they cut my hours down to practically nothing making me part time not full time, I lost my benefits, I had to come in early on Sundays to do the signage and clean up the mess from the night before. I could not believe what they did to me, I was down to 20 hrs a week. I called there headquarters and there was nothing they would do. I finally quit! I was good to them helped them out in a time of crisis and that was the thanks I got!Good luck to you.
